Renowned Canadian rapper Drake recently made headlines and went viral across social media after a clip showcased him throwing a slipper at a drone that was reportedly spying on him inside his penthouse in Sydney, Australia.

Drake noticed the drone after opening the penthouse’s balcony, flinched, grabbed the slipper, and threw it at the drone in hopes of hitting it. The clip in question garnered millions of views across social media including Instagram and Musk’s X (formerly known as Twitter).

Amid his attempt to take it down, the drone flew away and captured a wide shot of the city. The clip sparked widespread concern for Drake’s privacy and debate on its authenticity.

Some fans speculated that the video might’ve been staged in an attempt for attention and views to promote his album “Some Sexy Songs 4.”

While the clip’s authenticity remains unknown, other users speculated that the video was staged as a marketing stunt to promote his sponsor, Australian-Curaçaoan online casino, Stake.

Social media users are still poking fun at Drake since his diss track beef with American rapper Kendrick Lamar who released the award-winning song, “Not Like Us” aimed at the Canadian rapper. Lamar’s song generated so many clicks, that it recently landed the American rapper a halftime show at the Super Bowl LIX.

Some also made fun of Drake’s slipper throw. One Instagram user wrote under a post featuring the video, “Great arm Aubrey.” Another added, “0% accuracy.”

Titled “MEET YOUR PADRE” and featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR, one of Drake’s newest songs garnered attention across the internet but received mixed reactions from fans and music lovers alike due to the rapper’s broken Spanish.

A YouTube account wrote under the song, “Bro studied 1 hour in Duolingo and called it a day.” Another stated further, “This wasn’t released, it escaped.”
