Canadian pilot fired for showing support of Palestinians

In a world that has seen its fair share of upheaval lately, it’s sadly not surprising to hear of people losing their jobs because they spoke out on issues that they believe in.

The latest victim of this worrying trend is a Canadian pilot, who found himself out of a job after expressing his opinions.

Mustafa Ezzo, a Canadian pilot who worked for Air Canada, was recently fired from his job due to showing his support of Palestinians in some of the pictures he posted to his Instagram, one of which had the Palestinian flag around his neck.

Given that he is of Egyptian descent, it’s only natural that Mustafa Ezzo would likely feel more empathy towards Palestinians, but some seem to have thought his posts to be in very poor taste.

Some users on social media even voiced how he should be in jail, and that they wouldn’t feel the same flying with him.

Following a wave of grievances, Air Canada promptly addressed the matter concerning Mostafa Ezzo, letting him go.

With the ways something such as waving a Palestinian flag in the UK could become a criminal offense, it seems speaking up for Palestinian civilians and their rights is going to get more and more difficult, but it is important not to be silenced and to continue advocating for justice and bringing awareness to the challenges faced by Palestinians.
