Angelina Jolie reflects on motherhood: “Take Anything From Me, Nothing Else Matters”
While discussing her forthcoming movie, “Maria,” Angelina Jolie candidly discussed her children, stating that motherhood is the most important thing to her.
Maria Callis, the opera soprano she portrays in the biopic, prioritizes singing, but for the American actress and filmmaker, motherhood is the most important aspect of her life, she told Michael Strahan.
Angelina told Strahan, in effect, “It’s my happiness. You can take everything else away from me. Nothing else matters.”
Even though neither of her two oldest children wanted to be in front of the camera at this stage of their lives, Jolie, who has six children with her ex-husband Brad Pitt (Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16), said that having her two oldest children work as assistant directors on Maria was an incredible experience.
“They’re very private; Shiloh is very private; they weren’t born private, were they?” She went on. Thus, I’m hoping they’ll be able to acquire it as they get older.
Following Jolie’s revelation that she needed to spend more time at home with her kids, Maria became her first project in a long time. However, as the kids grew older and more self-sufficient, she felt less dependent on them and was able to spend more time away from them for work.
Angelina went on to say, “They’re old enough to join me in the work; it’s a new chapter in our lives, and I’m so excited that they’re going to be showing up more and more every day.”
The “Maleficent” actress also talked about how becoming a mother comes first and how that influences how she balances her interests in politics and acting.
Jolie stated: “As someone who has attempted to improve their knowledge of global affairs, I consider how often it has been mentioned that you are an artist who uses your voice to try to understand what is happening in our world and why things are the way they are. In order to ensure that my kids are decent individuals, I’m attempting to figure out how to be a positive mentor to them.I frequently question whether I’m doing enough.
