Adel Karam and Nadine Nassib Njeim to star in ‘Al Afrah’ series
“Al Afrah” is the working title of the upcoming series that stars Adel Karam and Nadine Nassib Njeim, according to sources.
The new project, according to the sources, is a comedic web series with many short episodes. Director Nasser Fakih wrote it, and the MBC-affiliated “Shahid” app is likely to air it.
She elaborated by saying that the “Sabah Brothers” business had already given their stamp of approval to the project concept that Faqih had pitched to them and that Nadine and Karam had not yet signed any kind of employment contract. Consequently, the firm assigned the lead roles to the two Lebanese actors who had already committed to the project.
Fakih previously worked with the “Shahid” platform to write the script for the 2021 series “Dur Al Omar,” which starred Cyrine Abdel Nour and Adel Karam under the direction of Saeed Al Marouk.
The sources confirm Nadine Njeim’s continuous collaboration with the “Sabah Brothers”, refuting rumors of their contract termination.
According to the sources, Nadine is now in search of a fresh screenplay that would allow her to make a comeback to television when the run of her Ramadan serial “2024” concludes. Bilal Shehadat wrote the series, Philip Asmar directed it, and the Syrian actor Muhammad Al-Ahmad starred.
Aside from the violence she showcased in “2024”, she also said that Nadine is considering a romance narrative or light comedy project.
Until her namesake cosmetics line launches, the Lebanese actress has reportedly put her creative endeavours on hold. Next autumn, she could make an announcement about a possible series return to theatres.
While Ramadan 2025 may or may not be in his sights, Adel Karam plans to keep working with the “Sabah Brothers” firm, with whom he has a cordial relationship, on a number of initiatives.
Karam first rose to fame on Lebanese comedy shows before transitioning to acting. Muhammad Abdel Aziz directed and Fadi Hussein wrote his final project, “A Point Has Ended,” starring Syrian and Lebanese actors, which aired during Ramadan last year.
