Beren Saat and Ekin Koç reunite for new film Tüm Yorgun Atlar after 10 years

Beren Saat and Ekin Koç are preparing to share the screen again, nearly a decade after playing Kösem Sultan and Sultan Ahmed in the hit historical drama Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem. The actors will star together in an independent Turkish film titled Tüm Yorgun Atlar (All the Tired Horses), directed by Burak Çevik.
The reunion was reported by Turkish entertainment journalist Birsen Altuntaş on October 29, quickly attracting attention from fans who remember the pair from their previous television collaboration. This time, however, they will take on completely different characters in a contemporary story centred on loss, death and free will.
What Is Tüm Yorgun Atlar About?
The film brings together the stories of two people whose lives unfold in very different circumstances.
Beren Saat will portray Aslı, a theatre artist struggling with the loss of her husband, who died by suicide. Ekin Koç will play Galip, a man living along the edges of Istanbul who makes a living through theft and by finding ways into other people’s lives.
Their paths eventually cross, connecting two stories shaped by loss, survival and personal choices. The film is expected to explore questions surrounding death and free will rather than follow a conventional romantic storyline.
Burak Çevik Directs the Independent Film
Tüm Yorgun Atlar will be directed by Burak Çevik, a filmmaker known for his work in independent cinema and his presence at international film festivals, particularly the Berlin International Film Festival.
His previous films include The Pillar of Salt (Tuzdan Kaide), Belonging (Aidiyet) and Forms of Forgetting (Unutma Biçimleri). His work has earned recognition on the international festival circuit, making him an interesting choice for a character-driven project built around complex themes.
The film will be produced by İpek Erden. Further cast members have not yet been announced.
Beren Saat and Ekin Koç Return to the Same Screen

The reunion carries particular meaning for viewers who remember the actors from Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem, which began airing in 2015.
Saat played Kösem Sultan, while Koç portrayed Sultan Ahmed I, her husband in the historical drama. Their characters were central to the series, which followed Kösem’s rise and influence during the Ottoman Empire.
Around 10 years later, the actors are coming together for a very different kind of production. Instead of an Ottoman palace and historical events, Tüm Yorgun Atlar takes place in contemporary Istanbul and focuses on two characters facing difficult personal circumstances.
The film’s release date has not been announced. Its filming schedule, additional cast members and distribution plans also remain undisclosed.
