Browser GTA 5 goes viral, playable without 100GB download
A new website took the internet by storm after letting gamers play GTA 5 in their browser for free using leaked source code and compressed 700MB of assets.
The new site, ‘playgta5.com’, impressively runs at 60 FPS and features the whole game’s story and sandbox modes. However, only a lucky few got to try the port, since new reports indicate that it has already been taken down. By the time of reporting, the site now shows a white background and a message that reads, “Thanks for playing!”

Other users claimed that the website also let players load into the recently leaked GTA 6 development map. Some players also got to try the game on their smartphones and confirmed that it reportedly works:
“Someone literally turned GTA 5 into a browser game! No signups, nothing. Just straight up gameplay. Works on both PC and Mobile.”
“holy sheet it actually workssssssssssssssss.”
“So it’s legit you can play GTA V on Browser u need to just download 700mb file as u can see in the screenshot.”
“AAA in the browser. I said what I said.”
Gameplay footage flooded social media, capturing players cruising across Los Santos and playing the story mode.
After several delays. Rockstar’s GTA 6 is finally scheduled to release on November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Players who pre-ordered the game can pre-load it on November 12.
