Studio Ghibli movies are known for their stunning character designs, background work, and well-written storylines, and The Boy and the Heron seems no different, but actually an upgrade to every Studio Ghibli released before!

The movie takes place in World War two and tells the story of a boy named Mahito, longing for his mother as he enters a magical world of the living and dead with a talking grey heron.

Of course, It’s not a Ghibli movie without the legendary music composer, Joe Hisashi who has composed music for multiple Ghibli movies including ٍSpirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and the upcoming movie, The Boy and the Heron.

Hayao Miyazaki’s newest movie has already been released in Japan on July 14, 2023, and made a whopping US$13.2 million in its first three days. According to Anime News Network, the movie was showcased on IMAX screens and sold 1.003 million tickets.
