Neslihan Atagül to lead Kaderin Cilvesi with Halit Özgür Sarı

Neslihan Atagül highly anticipated return to television is gaining momentum, with a new name now emerging as a possible leading man for her upcoming series Kaderin Cilvesi.

According to backstage information reported by Turkish journalist Birsen Altuntaş, Halit Özgür Sarı is currently in talks for the male lead in the Ay Yapım production. However, an agreement has not yet been officially announced, meaning Sarı’s casting should still be considered under discussion rather than confirmed.

Neslihan Atagül is preparing to return to television following her motherhood break with Kaderin Cilvesi, a project that has already attracted attention because of the creative team behind it.

The series is being written by Özlem Yılmaz and Anıl Eke, the screenwriters who previously worked on Atagül’s internationally successful drama Kara Sevda. Their reunion with the actress has been one of the most talked-about aspects of the new project since details first emerged in June.

Kaderin Cilvesi is being described in Turkish reports as a strong women’s drama.

Earlier information about the project suggested that the story would center on a woman who previously worked in a nightclub and later decides to challenge the circumstances that shaped her life. Reports indicate that the series will explore themes including poverty, family, morality, ambition and the struggle to change one’s destiny.

The project is therefore expected to be driven primarily by its female protagonist, with Atagül taking the central role.

The title itself, Kaderin Cilvesi, can be translated as “The Irony of Fate,” reflecting the story’s focus on a woman confronting the circumstances surrounding her life.

Halit Özgür Sarı Could Become Neslihan Atagül’s Partner

Sarı is now being considered for the male lead after a search for Atagül’s on-screen partner.

The actor most recently appeared in Alıkara, and his possible casting has generated interest because of the pairing with Atagül.

If negotiations are successful, Kaderin Cilvesi would bring together two actors from different generations of Turkish television at a time when both are attracting significant attention.

Sarı previously gained recognition through roles including Kardeşlerim and Yabani, while Neslihan Atagül has built an international following through productions such as Kara Sevda and Sefirin Kızı.

Nadim Güç to Direct

The series is also taking shape behind the camera.

Nadim Güç is expected to direct the project. He previously directed Ay Yapım’s Kıskanmak, making his involvement another connection between the production company and the new drama.

Ay Yapım is continuing preparations for the series, but the broadcaster has not yet been announced. A confirmed premiere date and full cast are also still pending.

For now, the biggest question surrounding Kaderin Cilvesi is whether Halit Özgür Sarı will officially join Neslihan Atagül as her leading man.
