Saudi Arabia downs two hostile drones targeting Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter

Saudi Arabia downed two hostile drones targeting the Diplomatic Quarter in the capital Riyadh, the Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday.
In a post just after 9 a.m. local time, the ministry said that it downed a drone while it attempted to approach the Diplomatic Quarter. A follow up post at around 9:44 a.m. local time said that another hostile drone was downed.
The Kingdom also intercepted and destroyed a drone in the Riyadh province, the ministry announced later in the morning.
The defense ministry had revealed earlier that it intercepted a ballistic missile with debris falling near the Prince Sultan Air Base.
“A ballistic missile launched toward al-Kharj Governorate was intercepted and destroyed, with interception debris falling in the vicinity of the Prince Sultan Air Base causing no damage,” the defense ministry said in a post on X.
It added that it also intercepted and destroyed several drones in the Kingdom’s Eastern Province.
