After days of speculation that occupied social media, the duo, Bessan Ismail and Mahmoud Maher, settled the controversy by announcing their official separation in mutual posts on their social media accounts.

Bessan shared the sad news of the breakup on her Instagram story on July 7, 2025, starting with a quote from the Quran that read, “And maybe you hate something while it is good for you.”

“Good evening,” she said. The world is a matter of fate, and everyone gets what they deserve. I love and care for Mahmoud a lot, but we both decided to go our separate ways. Mahmoud is a great guy who has helped me a lot.

“What should we do?” she asked next. Everything in the world is fate. I hope no one judges us or him. Truth be told, we are close and have something in common. Please pray for me, and if God wills it, everything will be okay. I love you a lot.”

Mahmoud Maher confirmed the news of the split in an Instagram story post that started with the same verse from the Quran and said, “The world is destiny.” As much as Bissan and I love and understand each other, we have agreed to part ways.

“Bessan is a great girl who stood by me, and I wish her the best from the bottom of my heart,” he said. Please don’t invade our privacy. We have a long past of friendship, love, and respect. “May God bless us and help us do what’s best in the days to come.”
