US House Speaker scraps Israel trip due to conflict with Iran

The US Speaker of the House has postponed his trip to Israel next weekend, where he was scheduled to address a special session of the Israeli Knesset, due to the conflict between Tehran and Israel.

“Due to the complex situation currently unfolding in Iran and Israel, Speaker Ohana and I have made the decision to postpone the special session of the Knesset,” Speaker Mike Johnson said in a statement. “We look forward to rescheduling the address in the near future and send our prayers to the people of Israel and the Middle East,” he added.

Johnson was supposed to make his trip on Sunday.
