Turkish Kickboxing champion Yavuz Özden attacks worker in mosque

A former Turkish world kickboxing champion named Yavuz Özden recently made headlines in the country after hospitalizing a cleaning officer at a mosque in Istanbul, Turkey, specifically Zeytinburnu. 

The violent incident left 38-year-old Osman Amaç with a broken jaw and partial facial paralysis. Amaç was later hospitalized and underwent surgery due to suffering from the injuries mentioned above, as reported by Turkish news outlet, Hürriyet.

Özden violently attacked Amaç after the cleaner warned the kickboxer to refrain from allegedly kicking the door of the disabled people’s toilet. Amaç filed a complaint against the Turkish kickboxer who punched him for minutes after the two had an argument.

Additionally, the mosque’s security cameras recorded the interaction in question. Özden allegedly kicked the toilet’s door to check if anyone was inside. Yavuz Özden was arrested and taken to prison after going to court where he was accused of “intentional injury.”
