MrBeast is Submitting an Offer to Buy TikTok

According to MrBeast, he is formally putting in an offer to buy TikTok.

The disclosure raises concerns about TikTok’s future because it follows several recent adjustments to the social media network.

MrBeast asserts that other billionaires reached out to him to explore the possibility of buying TikTok, suggesting that they took his initial interest in doing so in January seriously. Although he had stated that he was considering doing it, he has subsequently kept a low profile.

MrBeast has now announced on TikTok that he is formally flying out to make an offer, as evidenced by a video he posted from his jet. Since MrBeast hasn’t made the offer public, it’s unclear exactly what he is providing. Instead of providing a precise number, he called the offer “crazy” and hinted that he might become the next CEO.

The acceptance or rejection of the offer will likely reveal its details. In any case, this offer represents the latest in a string of challenging situations the company has encountered since TikTok’s investigation began during the first term of the Trump administration.

Since the leaving president, Biden, signed a bill in April 2024 mandating that the parent firm, ByteDance, sell its holdings in the company or face a ban in the US, TikTok is currently in a state of limbo. TikTok went dark on January 19 with a statement claiming that it wanted to return when Trump was inaugurated because this hadn’t happened in the nine months that were given.

The app has resumed normal service in the United States since Trump issued an executive order to extend the time for finding a solution. The app hasn’t made a comeback to the iPhone App Store or Google Play yet.

US President Donald Trump speaks to journalists about TikTok

Even if Trump claims he’s considering giving the US 50% of the ownership while MrBeast tries to purchase the app, it’s unclear whether the company will even consider a sale. Despite initially sounding open to the idea of acquisition to ensure its continued operation in the US, TikTok has subsequently changed its mind, and current reports indicate that the firm is no longer eager to sell the app.

That position might change, though, if MrBeast or the federal government made a significant enough offer to let them continue doing business in the US. The future looks brighter for TikTok than in recent months, but users must wait to see if MrBeast or government negotiations succeed.
