Netflix reveals ‘My Melody & Kuromi’ stop-motion show

 Netflix went viral across social media after revealing an upcoming stop-motion show based on the beloved Sanrio characters, Kuromi and My Melody, titled ‘My Melody & Kuromi’ following the footsteps of the spectacular ‘Pokémon Concierge.’

This comes in celebration of My Melody’s 50th anniversary and Kuromi’s 20th anniversary. Both characters have made it big in recent years among the younger generation of Sanrio fans, receiving thousands of merchandise from clothing and jewelry to bags and stationery tools.

‘My Melody & Kuromi’ is being produced by Japan’s WiT Studio, which is best known for producing anime like Attack on Titan and Spy x Family. The Sanrio-themed stop-motion show will be produced under WiT’s newly formed studio, TORUKU.

Moreover, it will be directed by Tomoki Misato and written by Shuko Nemoto. Netflix confirmed that the anime will exclusively hit its streaming service in July under its ‘Anime’ category but didn’t specify an exact date.
