Novak Djokovic was seen embracing Saudi Arabia’s culture as the 24-time Grand Slam champion posted pictures on his social media showcasing the Kingdom’s landscape and culture.
The Serbian tennis star donned the traditional Saudi attire and was seen sitting on a carpet alongside sand dunes and mountains captured in the background in pictures posted on his Instagram page.
Djokovic posted a series of images from his time in Riyadh with captions such as “Sand slam” and “Kingdom style.”
The 37-year-old was in the Saudi capital city for a final match with his long-time rival and friend Rafel Nadal at the Six Kings Slam exhibition event on Saturday. Djokovic thanked Nadal with a heartfelt message on Instagram for his impact on the sport and praised the Spaniard’s legacy.
“The last dance was an epic one. And of course emotional. I’ll cherish our rivalry forever. Tennis will miss you,” he wrote on his Instagram alongside a picture of both players from the court.
Djokovic added: “As-salamu alaykum, Riyadh. Six Kings Slam is a special tournament. See you soon.”
