Halima Boland jailed days after trying to escape

 After a ruling of two years in prison and the addition of hard labor due to her misuse of revealing photos and videos on social media, Kuwaiti TV Presenter Halima Boland who tried to escape the justice system was arrested by security forces. 

According to Al-Majlis News, Halima Boland was arrested after local security forces prepared an ambush and successfully seized her in the Al-Adan area after she disappeared for several days. The TV presenter was later jailed for two years.

The prosecutor accused Halima Bond of inciting him through a series of photos and private videos but she accused him back of swearing at her and wrongfully using his mobile phone. Boland will also be paying a fine of KWD 2,000 (around $6,498.48), as reported by Al-Rai Media.

News about her jail time and additional hard labor circulated across social media and news outlets alike since Apr. 25, 2024, but it seems that the presenter escaped for a while before being caught by the local police as mentioned above.

After news circulated about Halima’s presence on social media, her family wasn’t so keen on letting her be part of them anymore as they took to the public and issued a statement about the matter. Here’s what they had to say in the statement:

“Announcing the innocence of the family of engineer Hussein Boland from Halima. The family of Hussein Boland from Kuwait yearns and announces to the public our innocence of the so-called Halima Boland.

The disobedient sister who, with her disgraceful behavior that is outside of our Islamic norms and values harmed the reputation and dignity of the family. We ask the people of the country not to hold the family responsible for her actions.”
