Taylor Swift is now a Billionaire, officially joining Jay-Z, Oprah and Rihanna on Forbes’ list
With an estimated net worth of $1.1 billion, American pop singer and songwriter Taylor Swift has officially made the Forbes World’s Billionaires list, among 14 other celebrities with a combined net worth of $31 billion.
Forbes notes that Taylor Swift’s taking on the billionaires’ list is ground-breaking as she is the first musician to build such a massive net worth with only music royalties and show revenues.
Swift also broke another record when she was able to score the prize for album of the year four times at the Grammy Awards show. Additionally, the best-selling vinyl LP of the previous year was her album 1989 (Taylor’s Version).
According to Billboard’s forecasts from the previous year, Swift made a projected $1.82 billion from song sales and royalties, movie ticket sales, concert merchandise sales, and concert attendance in 2023.
Swift’s The Eras Tour, a roughly three-and-a-half-hour mega-concert with over forty songs, brought in almost $900 million in ticket sales in 2023, Billboard reports, with over 4.05 million ticket sales and $132 million in merchandise sales, marking it as the most successful musical tour ever.
The main owner of the luxury goods company LVMH, Bernard Arnault, remains the wealthiest person on earth, with Forbes reporting that his fortune climbed by 10 percent to $233 billion. Elon Musk is in second position with $195 billion in net worth, up 8 percent from the previous year.
