Billie Eilish feud with Taylor Swift regarding Billboard’s latest interview
The dispute erupted after Billie made remarks concerning the environmental impact of vinyl record manufacturing. In an interview with Billboard, she stated that releasing many vinyl copies of the same album to boost sales is “wasteful.”
While she did not expressly name anyone, several fans felt she was referring to Taylor Swift, who is known for developing and distributing vinyl versions of her albums.
After Swifties poured their rage on her, Billie Eilish begged them to stand down and is now setting the record right. The Oscar winner spoke out against recent headlines after fans spread rumors about an apparent conflict with fellow singer Taylor Swift in response to Billie’s statements about “issues” in the music industry.
Billie Eilish’s criticism of Taylor Swift sparked a response from the artist’s followers. In an interview with Billboard, Eilish stated, “Big artists use wasteful packaging for their albums.” When angry Taylor Swift fans reacted, Eilish felt compelled to defend herself.
“All your favourite artists have created 40 different synth packs to keep you buying more,” stated Billie Eilish, without identifying names.
“We are still at a moment when you care so much about your numbers and getting money,” remarked the singer, adding, “As someone who gives their all, I find it annoying that people go out of their way to be sustainable. “Everyone on my team needs to care about sustainability,” she went on to say.
When the musician launched a new version of his song ‘Happier Than Ever’ in 2021, he used stretch film made of recycled synthetic and sugar cane.
Taylor Swift had already sold several versions of her albums to Ariana Grande and Olivia Rodrigo, so loyal fans mistook Eilish’s statements for Swift’s and chastised her on social media. Many Swift fans accused Eilish of attacking her.
Billie Eilish also commented on the situation: “It would be great if people would stop talking out of my mouth and actually read what I said in that Billboard article,” she stated.
