MrBeast’s new Amazon show biggest in history with $5m prize
The popular biggest content creator on YouTube, MrBeast, has announced a new deal with Amazon MGM Studios to create the biggest competition show in TV history with a hefty $5 million prize and 1,000 contestants, coming to Amazon Prime titled “Beast Games.”
“My goal is to make the greatest show possible and prove YouTubers and creators can succeed on other platforms” said the 25-year-old creator, Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast. Adding in a statement “Amazon gave me the creative control I need to try and make it happen. I hope to make the YouTube community proud.”
While Amazon did not provide a release window for the show, or any further details other than having a 1,000 contestants competing for a grand prize of $5 million, it has said that MrBeast “is set to raise the stakes of his fast-paced and high-production format to make Beast Games the biggest reality competition series ever.”
In an interview with YouTubers Colin and Samir, MrBeast affirmed the shows huge selling point, saying that “It’s going to be the largest game show in history, with the most contestants any game show has ever had, with the largest cash prize in history.”
With approximately 244 million subscribers as of November 2022, MrBeast is the most followed YouTube celebrity globally. He started using social media at the age of 13, but it wasn’t until his hit video title “MrBeast counting to 100,000” went viral in 2017 that he became widely recognized.
Comparing it to his normal YouTube productions adding “It’s like our normal videos, but just 20 times better,” while having a no limitations on production budgets, saying “I have a bigger budget. Money’s not a constraint.”
