Israeli song rebuked for calling for ‘erasure of Gaza’
An Israeli rapper released a song that has been taking over the internet for calling the “erasure of Gaza”.
The Israeli song ‘Shager’ was directed by Lior Ishay and was produced by Eliad Sapir. I gained wide criticism for encouraging Israel’s military operation in Gaza, during which 31,645 Palestinians have been killed since Oct. 7.
According to the health ministry in the Gaza Strip, at least 73,676 Palestinians have been injured in Israeli aggression since last October.
“Ahlan wa sahlan ya Gaza,” the lyrics read as the singer continued saying: “You see how we changed a phrase. We started speaking Arabic, it’s a contemporary language, so nice to meet you.”
“So let’s go and occupy,” the Israeli song maintains triggering anger on social media. A female rapper continues to sing: “So we’ll make sure that Gaza turns into a happy amusement park.”
A person on X (formerly Twitter) wrote: “Zionism is the most evil ideology on Earth.” Another added: “No one made me more pro-Palestine than “Israelis” themselves, all they had to is open their mouths.”
Many others called pro-Palestinians on social media not to share the song so they wouldn’t get gain many views.
The song was first shared on Nov. 23, but it has been widely shared online and getting attention amidest activists.
