 The wedding of the century has been catching much attention in recent times, Indian couple Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant have taken the world by storm in a planned $100 million wedding.

Anant Ambani, the son of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, is getting married to Radhika Merchant, 29, the daughter of billionaire Shri Viren Merchant, who is the CEO of private health firm Encore Healthcare.

However, the weight of Anant Ambani has been a point of discussion for many people on social media who were concerned about the health of the son of Asia’s richest man.

What’s the reason behind Anant Ambani’s weight?

According to the Times of India, Anant Ambani “was highly asthmatic so we had to put him on a lot of steroids,” Nita Ambani said adding that the illness resulted in weight gain.

Nita Ambani told TOI in 2017 that the groom of the century “suffers from obesity,” which was caused by Asthma, which made his weight loss journey difficult.

According to previous reports, Anant Ambani used to weigh around 208 kg. However, after that, he impressively lost loads of weight. Nonetheless, in 2020, leaked images of the son of the Indian billionaire shocked the internet after Anant was spotted after he regained weight.

The leaked images were shared from the birthday party of now-fiancé Radhika Merchant.

Many celebrities have joined the lavish pre-wedding parties in India including Ivanka Trump, daughter of former US president Donald, Rihanna,  Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and Meta head Mark Zuckerberg.

The engagement of Anant was held in a traditional ceremony at the family’s Mumbai home Antilia, and several celebrities attended it.
