Woman’s love for dolls causes her to spend $12000
For many people, childhood dreams and hobbies tend to be left behind as they grow older. However, the same could not be said for 28-year-old Kirsten Haley from California, as her love for dolls has not faded.
In a recent interview with the British newspaper The Sun, Kirsten revealed that she has spent thousands of dollars on dolls that look like real children and has amassed a collection of 32 “babies.” Kirsten’s love for dolls dates back to her childhood. She would spend hours taking them for walks and confiding in them.
However, when she joined the army at the age of 17, she sold all of her personal belongings, including her favorite doll, as she believed she was ready to move on to a new chapter in her life.
While browsing online one day, Kirsten came across an advertisement for realistic-looking dolls and decided to purchase one. From that moment on, she was hooked. She has spent around $12,000 on dolls and accessories for them.
Kirsten’s husband, Ethan, who has been serving in the army, has been supportive of her hobby. While he was deployed in Iraq, Kirsten cared for her dolls, which helped to alleviate her feelings of loneliness and anxiety.
However, Kirsten said she has faced harsh criticism from others, including her own mother. Some people believe that her love for dolls is unnatural and that she should have a real child instead.
It could be said that Kisrten’s love for collecting dolls is a creative outlet in its’ own way. While she loves to collect, there are those out there who on the other hand would rather create dolls, so in a sense, they are in luck because there are people like Kristen out there to collect them due to her love for dolls.
While her hobby is surely not for everyone, it’s still harmless, not to mention that it would be hard to deny how passionate she is about it. Life isn’t always easy, so it’s nice to see people who are still able to be passionate about a hobby of theirs.
