1st Haikyuu!! final film gets a release date and trailer!

Gekijōban Haikyuu!! Gomi Suteba no Kessen (Haikyuu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump) has finally received a trailer and release date with the addition of the unveiling of the movie’s director/ writer at the Festa 2023 event on Sunday.

According to Anime News Network, the movie will be the first of two parts and will be directed by no other than Susumu Mitsunaka who also directed and wrote the first, and third Haikyuu!! television anime.

Fans of the anime will be delighted to hear that the film will cover the heated battle at the garbage dump between Karasuno High and Nekoma High.

The movie will be opening on Feb. 26, 2023, and be based on the events from Haruichi Furudate’s manga by the same name that originally launched in 2011 on one of Japan’s biggest manga serialization magazines Shonen Jump.

Production I.G then announced the adaptation of the first season of the anime which premiered in April 2014 and since then, Haikyuu!! accumulated a total of four seasons.

Haikyuu!! has become one of the most beloved sports manga and anime in the world and has accumulated quite a following hence its ongoing release of seasons and movies alike because of its stunning visuals, great characters, and inspirational story.

It tells the story of a high school boy named Hinata Shouyou who dreams of becoming a professional volleyball player, ever since he witnessed a player by the name of the “Little Giant” defeating the odds of being short and shining through the volleyball court.

Despite not doing well in middle school, Hinata joins Karasuno High, Little Giant’s old school which is now a shadow of its former glory only to find out that his teammate is Tobio Kageyama, the prodigy who humiliated his team in middle school.
