World’s fattest cat dies after going on a harsh diet
Crumbs or Kroshik in Russian, the world’s fattest cat has tragically passed away recently after undergoing a harsh diet, but to no one’s surprise, it wasn’t the diet and exercise that caused his death but cancerous tumors growing across his body and breathing problems, according to The Mirror.
The layers of flab were so deep that the scan couldn’t pick up the tumors in question.

Vets at the Matroskin cat shelter believed that tumors were growing on his lungs and spleen, triggering the collapse of multiple organs but the cause of death remains unknown.
Crumbs was a cat from Russia who weighed 17 kilograms and resided in a hospital’s basement before people found out about him. His diet consisted of biscuits and soup before losing 3 kilograms on his weight loss and exercise journey.
Matroskin Cat Shelter’s owner Galiana More said, “The cat started suffocating two days ago, lying in an oxygen chamber in the clinic. For the past two hours, we actually pumped him out so that he could continue to breathe so that he survived. Unfortunately, the real cause of death is unknown at the moment.”
Crumbs used to find it difficult to walk but after losing the weight, he slowly became more active as he started leaping on multiple furniture pieces. The world’s fattest cat asl went viral across social media when he was found stuck in a shoe rack after trying to run away from his exercises.
Crumbs’ family thanked the vets and everyone who had a hand in trying to improve his life, for their kindness and never leaving his side until “his very last breath”.
