When is Eid al-Fitr 2025?

“When is Eid al-Fitr 2025?” this question has been circulating the news in the past few days with people wondering when will be the last day of Ramadan.
Eid al-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims worldwide because it marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-dusk fasting of the holy month of Ramadan.
When is Eid al-Fitr 2025?
The International Astronomy Center released a statement predicting that Ramadan will last 30 days in some countries and that Eid al-Fitr will possibly be celebrated on Monday, March 31. It added, that other countries may announce the beginning of Shawwal on March 30.
The International Astronomical Center said in a statement: “Most countries will observe the Shawwal crescent on Saturday, March 29, 2025,” adding that sighting the crescent on that day is impossible from the eastern part of the world, and is not possible from the rest of the Arab and Islamic world using all observation methods, including the naked eye, telescopes, and astronomical photography technology.
It noted: “Seeing the crescent moon in most Arab countries is impossible, neither with the naked eye nor with a telescope, especially since they are all below the global ‘Dangon’ limit. A French scientist has shown that seeing the crescent moon with the naked eye or with a telescope is not possible if the moon’s distance from the sun is less than about seven degrees, a view supported by reliable astronomical observations of the crescent moon.”
