Video shows a strange cloud in UAE, Supercell cloud
Recent video circulated on social media have revealed the presence of a “Supercell” cloud formation located to the south of Al Ain city in the United Arab Emirates.
This particular type of cloud is known for its exceptional characteristics, typically forming under specific atmospheric conditions. In some instances, Supercells have been associated with significant damage due to severe weather events.
The formation of this Supercell cloud is believed to be a consequence of the prevailing low-pressure system affecting the region.
Emirati authorities, represented by the Meteorological Department, have issued cautionary advisories to residents and citizens.
The National Center of Meteorology in the Gulf state has further provided an assessment of the anticipated weather conditions in the UAE, highlighting the influence of the ongoing extension of the low-pressure system. This assessment is expected to remain in effect until tomorrow, Sunday.
A supercell is a type of thunderstorm characterized by its deep, rotating updraft called a mesocyclone. These storms are often associated with severe weather events such as large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes.
The term “supercell” comes from the unique structure of the storm, which features a persistent rotating updraft, often giving it a distinct appearance resembling a rotating mesocyclone.
