Video: Saudi driver saves child from a speeding car

A shocking and heart-stopping moment in Saudi Arabia was captured on a video, which then found its way onto the internet and attracted much attention. 

The video that surfaced shows a very brave driver intervening to protect a child from a speeding car. The incident, described as “amazing” and “heroic” by social media users, shows how the swift action of one person can stop a potential tragedy from happening.

In the video, the driver, Abdullah Madloul Al Anzi, is seen driving his white car along a street when he spots a child walking in the middle of the road. He stops for a second, but then he also notices another car, a grey one, racing dangerously close and fast to the child’s path.

Without hesitation, Abdullah swiftly maneuvers his car to intercept the speeding car, preventing a collision and ensuring the child’s safety.

Despite the praise he received, Abdullah played down his actions that day, stating that he viewed it not as an act of heroism, but rather as a moral duty of any responsible person in such a situation. He said that anyone in his position would have acted the same way, driven by the obligation to protect the helpless child in their view.

The incident occurred in Al Kharj, a central governorate in Saudi Arabia. Despite the resulting damage to both cars and a repair bill of 5000 riyals from the other driver. Thankfully there is a happy ending to the story that could have easily ended in a tragedy, and it is all thanks to Abdullah Madloul Al Anzi.
