US stands with Saudi Arabia after Iranian strikes, Trump tells MBS

US President Donald Trump told Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Sunday that Washington stands with the Kingdom and supports all measures it takes in response to Iranian attacks, according to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
During a phone call, Trump “expressed the United States’ condemnation of the blatant missile attacks launched against the Kingdom, which were intercepted by Saudi air defenses,” SPA reported.
The US president also “affirmed that the United States stands alongside the Kingdom and supports all measures it takes to confront these Iranian violations that undermine the security and stability of the region,” the agency added.
Saudi Arabia said on Saturday that Iran carried out strikes on Riyadh and the Kingdom’s eastern region, and warned that it reserves the right to defend itself, including through retaliation.
The United States and Israel carried out military strikes on Iran on Saturday, targeting its top leaders. Tehran called the attacks unprovoked and illegal, and responded by launching missiles at Israel and several Gulf countries.
