Tom Hanks ’ Pacific Palisades home escapes devastating wildfire amid LA Blaze

Tom Hanks Pacific Palisades home narrowly escaped destruction as wildfires ravage Los Angeles, forcing celebrity evacuations.

In a stunning turn of events, Tom Hanks’ home in the Pacific Palisades is still intact.

As can be seen in photographs that were obtained by Page Six on Thursday, the property that cost $26 million and was purchased by the actor who played “Forrest Gump” and his wife, Rita Wilson, in 2010 narrowly avoided being consumed by the flames that originate from the ongoing wildfire in Los Angeles.

The fire completely destroyed the large cliffside mansion directly above Hanks’ home, which boasts four bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Chet Hanks, the son of Tom and Wilson Hanks, took to Instagram to express his feelings on the catastrophic Palisades Fire. He wrote, “The neighborhood I grew up in is burning to the ground right now.” The Palisades need your prayers.

Although Tom and Wilson, now 68 years old, purchased their current property when Chet was an adult, they previously owned a 1929 Spanish-style villa in the Pacific Palisades.

The couple bought the property when they were just getting married, and the Los Angeles Times reported that they sold it in 2014 for $5 million.

Additionally, in 1991, the actor from “Cast Away” purchased a beach house in Malibu that was 1,800 square feet in size. Reports suggest that he remains the owner of the property. Whether the house is still standing is not entirely apparent.

Page Six has attempted to obtain a comment from representatives for both Tom and Wilson.

The devastating flames that have been raging in Los Angeles since Tuesday have forced a number of famous people, including Paris Hilton, Heidi Montag, and Spencer Pratt, as well as Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, to evacuate their homes.
