The Legend of Trump MAGA: White House shares Zelda-inspired propaganda
The White House’s official X account is back at it again. This time, targeting Nintendo fans with an AI-generated video inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, featuring U.S. President Donald Trump.
This comes following Nintendo’s recent direct for the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which confirmed a Nov. 5, 2026, release date, along with other merchandise, including a new Zelda-inspired Switch 2 console and controller, playable Ocarinas, and orchestral concerts around the world.
The controversial video featured a title screen with “The Legend of Trump: Make America Great Again” written on it as Ocarina of Time’s iconic title theme played in the background. It then panned into a low-polygon model of Trump, doing his presidential duties at the White House to “Make America Great Again.”

Kokiri Forest also played in the video, which many believe will not sit well with Nintendo’s legal team, given their past track record. Several others criticised the White House account of spreading “propaganda” through pop culture and beloved games such as Ocarina of Time.
The White House is no stranger to using pop culture in its marketing strategy. It has previously used other franchises such as Pokémon, Halo, Grand Theft Auto, and Studio Ghibli to appeal to a specific audience.
In response, X users flooded the post with comments criticising and mocking the White House account:
