Iran says 50 percent of damaged production capacity at South Pars restored
Iran says 50 percent of the damaged production capacity at the South Pars gasfield has been restored, six months after Israel bombed the site.

Deputy Oil Minister Ahmed Zeraatkar said production has now resumed at those facilities that have been repaired and that authorities are working to fix the remaining damage.

Israel attacked South Pars, the world’s largest natural gasfield, in mid-March. The strikes caused the skies over Tehran to turn black due to thick plumes of smoke blocking out the sun. Human Rights Watch said the attack could amount to a war crime.

Iran and Qatar share ownership of the gasfield.

Israel’s ambassador to the US says his son injured at West Bank checkpoint
Israel’s ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter has confirmed that his son was the soldier injured at an alleged car-ramming incident at a checkpoint west of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.

Earlier on Wednesday, a man was shot dead by Israeli soldiers following what Israel’s police described as a car-ramming attack.

Leiter said in a social media post that medics “are now fighting to save the life of Neria”, referring to his son.

Israeli police have not identified the soldier who was injured.
