Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are bringing fathers and daughters together

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are filling a blank space between young girls and their dads.

Yes, the high profile romance between the pop star and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end has helped fathers and daughters connect, even while Swift has faced backlash about how much she is shown when she attends a game.

“It’s been a great way to bond with my daughter,” said John Smith, a 45-year-old father of two from Philadelphia, who is a lifelong Chiefs fan. “She loves Taylor Swift and her music, and I love the Chiefs and Travis Kelce. We watch the games together and we talk about their relationship and how cute they are.”

Smith said he was surprised when he learned that Swift and Kelce were dating, as he did not expect them to have much in common. But he said he respects Kelce for being supportive of Swift’s career and respecting her privacy.

“He seems like a good guy who treats her well and doesn’t care about the fame or the drama,” Smith said. “He’s also a great player and a leader on the field. I think they make a good match.”

Smith’s daughter, Emma, 12, said she was thrilled when she found out that her favorite singer was dating her dad’s favorite player.

“I think they are so cute and sweet together,” Emma said. “I love how they support each other and how they are both successful and talented. I also like how they keep their relationship private and don’t post too much on social media.”

Emma said she enjoys watching the games with her dad and cheering for the Chiefs and Kelce.

“It’s fun to see them play and win, and sometimes they show Taylor in the stands and she looks so happy and pretty,” Emma said. “It makes me happy too.”

Emma said she hopes that Swift and Kelce will stay together and maybe get married someday.

“I think they would have beautiful babies,” Emma said. “Maybe they would name them after their songs, like Red or All Too Well.”

Smith said he does not mind his daughter’s fantasies, as long as they do not interfere with her schoolwork or her own dreams.

“I want her to be happy and have fun, but I also want her to focus on her education and her goals,” Smith said. “She can look up to Taylor Swift as a role model, but she should also be her own person and follow her own path.”

Smith said he is glad that Swift and Kelce have brought him and his daughter closer together, and he hopes that their relationship will last.

“They seem to have a lot of chemistry and love for each other,” Smith said. “I wish them all the best and I hope they keep making music and touchdowns.”
