Sudan’s Burhan meets MBS in Saudi Arabia

Sudan’s army chief, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Mecca on Friday to discuss the latest developments in war-torn Sudan.

“They also discussed prospects for cooperation between the two brotherly countries, and an agreement was reached to establish a coordination council tasked with enhancing bilateral relations in various fields,” according to a readout of the meeting from the Kingdom.

Earlier in the day, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced full control of the capital, Khartoum, after an offensive that also led to the recapturing of the presidential palace from the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
