Shannen Doherty passed away at 53 after long battle with cancer
Unfortunately, Shannen Doherty, who had been fighting breast cancer for several years, passed away at the age of 53.
The star of the television show 90210 died around one month after she revealed that the previous year had been difficult for her.
Leslie Sloane, her publicist, confirmed actress Shannen Doherty’s death in an interview with People magazine on Sunday. Sloane wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the death of actress Shannen Doherty.”
She was surrounded by people who were closest to Shannen Doherty, as well as her dog, Bowie. Sloan continued by saying, “The family asks for their privacy at this time so that they can grieve their loss in peace.”
Doherty received a breast cancer diagnosis in 2015, and just two years later, the stunning celebrity revealed that the illness had returned after a period of remission. During an interview with Good Morning America, she declared that she would reach stage 4 within a few days or a week. “I have cancer, and that is the reason I am here,” she said. “So it happened again.” Continuing, she said, “I don’t believe that I treated it.” It is a difficult pill to take in a variety of ways.
During the previous year, she announced that her cancer had progressed to her brain via an Instagram post that also revealed that she was receiving treatment.
Ms. Shannen Doherty is a well-known American actress. It is her numerous roles in television and film that have brought her the most recognition. Some of the roles she has played include Jenny Wilder in Little House on the Prairie (1982–1983), Maggie Malin in Girls Just Want to Have Fun (1985), Chris Witherspoon in Our House (1986–1988), Heather Duke in Heathers (1989), Brenda Walsh in Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990–1994), the 90210 series (2008–2009), and the BH90210 series in 2019, Prue Halliwell in Charmed (1998–2001), and the character Dobbs in Fortress (2021).
