Several people killed in school shooting in Austria

Several people are reported to have been killed in a suspected shooting at a school in the Austrian city of Graz.

Police said on Tuesday morning that they had deployed to the school after shots were heard.“Currently, a police operation is underway… The reason for the deployment was that gunshots were heard in the building,” the police said on X, confirming the attack in Graz.

The Interior Ministry said there were several fatalities but did not specify the number. Austrian media suggested at least eight people were killed.

There was also no immediate information on any injuries or on the status of the perpetrator.
