Saudi, Iranian foreign ministers discuss regional developments

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received a phone call from his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi on Sunday.

“During the call, they discussed regional developments and efforts aimed at de-escalation and easing tensions in the region,” SPA said.

Iranian state media said the foreign ministers discussed the latest regional developments and ongoing diplomatic efforts.

During the conversation, Araghchi briefed Prince Faisal on Iran’s “latest diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war and reducing tensions,” Iranian state media reported.

Araghchi departed Islamabad for Moscow on Sunday, ping-ponging from capital to capital as mediators hoped to keep peace talks between Tehran and Washington alive.
