Saudi Arabia sends 18 KSrelief planes to deliver aid, ambulances to Gaza
Seventeen KSrelief planes, carrying essential aid to Gaza, have arrived at Egypt’s el-Arish Airport on Friday ahead of their scheduled delivery to Gazans in the besieged enclave.
An additional plane is currently on the way to Egypt after taking off from Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The aid includes food, medical supplies and devices, ambulances, and supplies used for shelter.
Israel and Hamas started a four-day ceasefire on Friday, allowing aid to flow into the besieged Gaza enclave – the first pause in the near seven-week-old war.
Aid trucks began entering the Gaza Strip from Egypt through the Rafah border crossing shortly after the four-day truce between Israel and Hamas came into effect, Reuters TV footage showed on Friday.
Several ambulances carrying dozens of wounded Palestinians also began making their way into Egypt through the border crossing, Al Arabiya reported.
A total of 230 trucks carrying much-needed aid are expected to enter the territory on Friday, Al Arabiya reported, as hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been left with little to no supplies of water, food, medicine, and fuel.
Egypt has said 130,000 liters of diesel and four trucks of gas will be delivered daily to Gaza when the truce starts, and that 200 trucks of aid would enter Gaza daily.
