Qatar Airways expands routes and increases flights from Doha

Qatar’s national carrier Qatar Airways on Wednesday revised its flight schedule expanding routes and increasing flights to and from the capital Doha.

“All flights to and from Doha continue to operate through dedicated flight corridors established in close coordination with the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority,” a statement read, adding that flight schedules would be subject to change or cancelled due to circumstances beyond the airline’s control.

The statement further said that passengers with a valid booking to a destination listed on the new flight schedule would be contacted and given new flight information. Passengers are advised to check the company’s website and ensure the accuracy of their contact details.

Meanwhile, the airline confirmed that passengers with a valid booking between February 28 and June 15 would be eligible for complimentary date changes to a new travel date up to October 31 or a refund of the unused ticket value.

Qatar Airways faced some of the largest flight disruptions since the war on Iran started. Iran has fired on Gulf countries since February 28 in reaction to Israeli and US strikes on its territory despite those countries not being warring parties or granting permission for any warring party to use their airspace for attacks.

Commercial airlines in Gulf countries have been affected by the situation with many of them being forced to postpone, reroute or cancel flights.
