Polls tight as Trump, Harris campaign in Wisconsin
- With four days to go until the US presidential election, Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris are campaigning in Midwestern swing states.
- Trump has held a brief private meeting with members of the Arab American community in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn. He will later hold two rallies today in Warren, Michigan, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Trump meeting with Arab American ‘extremely symbolic’, says community advocate
Samraa Luqman says Trump’s visit to Dearborn is significant in that it underscores his push to reach out to Arab voters.
“It shows an openness to engage the community that has hitherto been lacking,” Luqman told Al Jazeera.
She said dozens of people attended the event, including average Arab voters, business owners and activists – “not just the political elites”.
A community representative delivered a brief statement to Trump stressing the need to end the war on Gaza and Lebanon, according to Luqman.

Trump’s violent rhetoric ‘disqualifying’ for US presidency: Harris
Harris has laid into Trump for his comments on Thursday night directed at one of her Republican boosters, Liz Cheney.
Trump has “suggested rifles should be trained on former Representative Liz Cheney”, Harris told reporters. “This must be disqualifying. Anyone who wants to be president of the United States who uses that kind of violent rhetoric is clearly disqualified and unqualified to be president.”
Trump suggested Cheney should face combat with guns trained on her, comments his campaign said were intended to criticise her as a warmonger.
Cheney is the daughter of Dick Cheney, vice president to President George W Bush when the US government went to war in Afghanistan and Iraq.
