Percy Jackson and the Olympians is here and people love it!
The new Percy Jackson series on Disney+ (Percy Jackson and the Olympians) has taken the internet by storm amid its release garnering insanely high ratings with people on social media praising the show for its quality.
By the time of writing this article, only two episodes have aired on the streaming platform but the show has garnered a 9/10 on IMDB, 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, and an 8/10 from IGN.
According to Google, here’s the synopsis for the show:
“12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, is coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god, Zeus, accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt; with his friend’s help, Percy must restore order to Olympus.”
The best Percy Jackson adaptation by far
Disney+
Despite witnessing several Percy Jackson adaptations in recent years including The Lightning Thief in 2010 and Sea of Monsters in 2013, both were received badly among fans and critics alike as they garnered low reviews on IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, and Metacritic.
It’s a little too early to review the show in our opinion as only two episodes are out of eight but we truly believe that this show will have a lot to offer Percy Jackson fans from teens to adults who grew up reading the books.
The Guardian referred to the show as “the kind of easy family viewing you don’t get from the MCU” as it’s a great way to spend the evening with your kids watching the show where both audiences can be satisfied from the outcome.
As mentioned above, the show currently has two episodes with the six coming out later in a typical weekly schedule so expect the next one on Dec. 27, 2023.
