Olympics athlete reveals League of Legends rank amid winning bronze medal
A Spanish canoeist competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics went viral on social media after sharing a photo of his League of Legends rank next to his bronze medal showcasing that the athlete is “Stuck in bronze.”
The individual in question is 21-year-old Pau Echaniz who also revealed in an interview that he’s “Stuck” in bronze like many fellow players worldwide. The post went so viral that it got the attention of League of Legends’ Spanish account on X (Formerly known as Twitter).

The account replied with “duo when,” showing interest in playing the game with Echaniz.
Echaniz also revealed in an interview with a Spanish journalist that he lost two ranked games before making his run. Moreover, he told the interviewer that he was not the best at the game but was an avid watcher of its E-Sports matches.
League of Legends is a popular competitive videogame in the MOBA genre (Multiplayer online battle arena). Moreover, It garners more than 125 million players monthly, according to its developer Riot Games who also created other popular multiplayer games like Valorant.
In his post, Echaniz expressed that he’s not getting on a canoe until he hits gold in-game.
According to Dexerto, League of Legends is rumored to be part of the Olympics in 2025 since the International Olympic Committee added E-Sports as a competitive section.
Later, Echaniz made another post on X and shared a link to his Twitch stream so that people can watch him play the game.
