Just days after her arrest for accusations of drug trafficking, new details have emerged about Egyptian TV presenter Sarah Khalifa, sparking widespread debate on the Egyptian side of social media. 

According to local sources cited , Khalifa, who is engaged to a famous Zamalek footballer, was arrested in a luxurious apartment located in Cairo, Egypt, with claims that she had a hand in a drug smuggling operation, including deliveries.

New details emerged after authorities disclosed that Sarah Khalifa was part of a drug-smuggling operation, which had several individuals deliver a type of “synthetic weed” to two apartments in Cairo, including her luxurious flat.

Additional information revealed that the apartments were used as laboratories to complete the synthetic weed operation and have it ready for delivery. Amid the police’s arrival, 200 kilograms of synthetic weed were seized alongside the objects used in creating the drugs.

According to Al Arabiya, it’s claimed that the synthetic weed intended for nationwide distribution would’ve garnered around 450 million Egyptian Pounds (approximately $8 million).

Sarah Khalifa’s career in TV presenting was booming before her arrest. Additionally, she also garnered quite a following on Instagram, becoming a social media influencer with more than three million followers. After boasting a successful career, Khalifa also opened up a Clinic that specializes in beauty procedures such as Botox, fillers, plastic surgery, and more.
