Netflix Horizon Zero Dawn is officially dead, allegations of toxic work environment
Netflix’s live-action for Guerilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn is reportedly no more according to VG247 but the usual “creative differences” between the staff is not the reason.
Sony has been making quite a debut into live-action territory with series like Naughty Dog’s The Last of US, Twisted Metal, and now Ghost of Tsushima receiving a series but it seems that Horizon Zero Dawn is not as lucky since Netflix has stopped its production for the time being.
It seems the production was put to a halt due to allegations of “retaliation” and a “toxic work environment” which has something to do with Steve Blackman who previously worked on Umbrella Academy. Moreover, two of his shows were reportedly stopped as well due to the accusations mentioned above.

This is a huge blow to both Netflix and Sony since Horizon Zero Dawn is the only Netflix adaptation on the streaming platform while shows like The Last of Us are running on HBO.
Competitors like Bethesda and Xbox landed with Amazon Prime with the brilliant adaptation of the beloved Fallout series, making it one of the best video game adaptations in history.
Take in mind that the project was reportedly put to a halt but that doesn’t mean that one of Sony’s biggest IPs won’t receive a live-action in the future.
