Netflix announces Alice in Borderland Season 3!

As Squid Game’s hype slowly comes to a halt, Netflix took to social media and announced the return of the popular Japanese drama, Alice in Borderland by showcasing a new teaser with a massive Joker card engulfing abandoned Tokyo.

Additionally, Alice in Borderland’s third season also received a 17-second trailer showcasing the show’s main characters, Ryohei Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and Yuzuha Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) in action once more, against abandoned Tokyo’s dangerous games.

The show has been compared to Netflix’s award-winning K-drama, Squid Game due to following a similar formula where contestants are forced into dangerous games to survive. Take in mind that Alice in Borderland is based on a manga (Japanese comic book) by Haro Aso, which kicked off its serialization back in 2010.

Fans took to several social media outlets in anticipation of the show’s upcoming third season, while speculating where the story will go amid the second season’s ending. While Netflix announced that Alice in Borderland Season 3 will hit the streaming service in 2025, a specific release date wasn’t confirmed.

A user on Musk’s X (formerly known as Twitter) wrote, “Been waiting for this! The games are about to get even crazier. Bring it on!”

Another added, “LETS GOOO. Finally after all that squid game hype, we get real peak back. Can’t wait to see how they handle the sequel manga. I wonder how much original stuff they’ll add since it’s pretty short.”
