Nas Daily makes a bold statement: I only have one home, Israel
Israeli Vlogger Nas Daily, his real name is Nuseir Yassin, has made a shocking announcement regarding his nationality and who’s side he’s on in this very critical time of the Palestinian-Israeli war.
Nas Daily struggling with his identity
On Instagram, Nas Daily shared a series of Stories with his 4.4 million followers to reveal his identity to the world.
He started with the words “personal thoughts not for everyone. Feel free to skip.”
Then he dived into his struggle with his identity: “For the longest time I struggled with my identity. A Palestinian kid born inside Israel.”
Nuseir Yassin then criticized his friends of a similar situation for calling themselves “Palestinians”. He wrote: “Many of my friends refuse to this day say the word “Israel” and call themselves “Palestinians only. But since I was 12, that did not make sence to me.”
The vlogger continues to explain his identity struggle and says that he decided to mix the two and become a “Palestinian-Israeli”.
“I thought this term reflected who I was. Palestinian first, Israeli second.”
Nas Daily is angered by the recent self defence operation done by Hamas
The recent “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation launched by Hamas as a reaction of the apartheid and colonization initiated by Israel has angered Nas Daily.
He wrote: “But after recent events, I started to think, and think, and think. And then my thoughts turned to anger.”
Yassin continued: “I realized that if Israel were to be invaded like that again, we would not be safe.”
“And I do not want to live under a Palestinian government. Which means I only have one home, even if I’m not Jewish: Israel.”
“That’s where all my family lives. That’s where I grew up. That’s the country I want to see continue to exist so I can exist.”
Then Nas Daily gave his opinion about the existence of Palestine, and accused it of being “extreme”, making a bold statement that it is not his home, but Israel is.
“Palestine should exist too as an independent state. And I hope to see the country thrive and become less extreme and more prosperous. But it’s not my home.”
So from today forward, I view myself as an “Israeli-Palestinian”. Israeli first. Palestinian second.
Sometimes it takes a shock like this to see so clearly.”
