Manchester City’s renowned football manager Pep Guardiola recently made headlines after news circulated that he is reportedly separating from his wife Cristina Serra, after five years of living apart in different countries.
According to Spanish sources, the possible divorce will mark the end of a 30-year relationship and a 10-year-old marriage. Despite agreeing to depart ways a month ago, claims indicate that Guardiola and his wife still have a stable and friendly relationship together.
Despite having a stable and friendly relationship, they decided to separate back in December but by the time of reporting, their inner close circle still didn’t disclose the reason behind the divorce.
On the contrary, some reports claim that Guardiola split up with Serra due to being “a total workaholic” which later resulted in hindering the relationship, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Sources added that both individuals have been living apart for five years after Serra moved back to Barcelona to run her fashion company, while Guardiola stayed in Manchester, England to manage one of the top football teams in the Premier League and globally.
According to Sky News, the couple has three girls together including Maria, Marius, and Valentina. 24-year-old Maria is a model with over 900,000 followers on Instagram.
On the contrary, the middle child 22-year-old Marius resides in Dubai and is the CEO of three companies while 17-year-old Valentina is still studying.
Social media users took to platforms like Musk’s X (formerly known as Twitter) and wrote, “Is coaching football this destructive to personal relationships.”
Another added, “Not surprised. Obsession leads to neglect in other areas.”
Another expressed their sadness towards the matter and wrote, “This is actually sad, 30 years of love, trust and happiness is all gone, I hope they find their way back to each other.”
