Kylie vs Tay: Shirtless Jason Kelce gets thumbs down from wife, thumbs up from Taylor Swift
Jason Kelce, the Philadelphia Eagles center, made headlines on Sunday when he celebrated his brother Travis Kelce’s touchdown at the Kansas City Chiefs-Buffalo Bills playoff game by taking off his shirt and jumping into the crowd.
The older Kelce, who was watching the game from a luxury box at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, said he wanted to have “the full experience” of the Bills mafia.
However, his wife, Kylie Kelce, who was also in the box with Travis’ girlfriend, pop star Taylor Swift, was not amused by his antics. Jason Kelce revealed on Wednesday’s episode of “New Heights”, a podcast he hosts with his brother, that he had warned Kylie about his plan beforehand, but she told him not to do it. “She was already telling me to be on my best behavior because we were meeting Taylor,” he said.
Jason Kelce also joked that his shirtless stunt was part of his charm, and that it worked on Swift, who apparently loved it. “Well, Tay said she absolutely loves you,” Travis Kelce confirmed. Swift, who has been dating Travis Kelce since last year, was seen waving and smiling from the box, and even interacted with some young fans who had signs for her.
Jason Kelce’s shirtless celebration was not the only thing that caught the attention of the internet. He also showed up at a Buffalo tailgate before the game, where he took a shot from a bowling ball and mingled with fans. He also scooped up an 8-year-old girl named Ella Piazza, who had a sign that read, “Buffalo Bills + Taylor Swift Best First Game Ever!!”, and helped her get a glimpse of the singer. “It was amazing,” Ella’s mother, Jessica Piazza, said.
The Chiefs won the game 27-24, advancing to the AFC Championship, where they will face the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Travis Kelce scored two touchdowns in the game, while Jason Kelce cheered him on from the stands. The brothers, who both play in the NFL, have a close bond and often support each other on and off the field.
