Kim Kardashian slams Trump’s immigration policy in Venice speech

Kim Kardashian speaks out in Venice, criticizing Trump’s immigration policy.
Kim Kardashian has spoken out against the controversial immigration policy that Donald Trump has put in place. The star shared her ideas in Venice, Italy, where she received an honor for her efforts to reform the criminal justice system.
One of the reporters asked Kim about the recent ICE raids before she got her award. Her answer made the news.
“You hear in the news, ‘Oh, it’s about criminals who are trying to help our country.’ “What about the people who have worked so hard to make our country what it is today? So many people who are so important to our country are getting hurt. There are people I know, as well as others my friends know, who are affected by this situation,” she said.
Kim made it clear that she thinks the rule is unfair. She said that many refugees help the country and should be protected.
“You want to believe that protection has a strong message, but then you see that it’s not really a message,” Kim said. “It’s hard, but I believe we need to do everything we can to safeguard the individuals who have contributed to and strengthened our nation.”
Kim’s words carry more weight because she has been politically active in the past. She worked with Trump on criminal justice reform while he was president. Her biggest accomplishment was getting Alice Marie Johnson released from prison after serving a life term for a drug crime that wasn’t violent. She also backed other attempts to grant pardons, and for using her fame to bring about change, she got praise.
Kim is once again showing that she is ready to get involved in politics by openly criticizing Trump’s immigration policy. Her words in Venice show how determined she is to stand up for people she thinks have been wronged.
