Israel’s war on Gaza : Hundreds trapped in Khan Younis as battles rage
- The UN’s humanitarian aid agency says hundreds of Palestinians remain trapped in eastern Khan Younis “amid intense hostilities” and rescue teams are “unable to reach them due to the denial of access by the Israeli military”.
- Amid starvation and fears of spreading disease, the average daily volume of humanitarian aid cargo entering the Gaza Strip has decreased by 56 percent since April, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reports.
At least one killed in Israeli drone attack on cemetery in Khan Younis
A Palestinian has been killed and a number of others wounded in an Israeli drone strike that targeted a cemetery in Khan Younis, an Al Jazeera correspondent reports.

More on injury of Palestinian man in occupied East Jerusalem
As we reported earlier, a Palestinian man has been critically injured by Israeli forces in the al-Issawiya neighbourhood of occupied East Jerusalem.
The family of the man, who was named as 37-year-old Ahmed Joda, said he was driving without a license and tried to evade the police when he was shot and wounded. He is receiving treatment at Jerusalem’s Shaare Tzedek Hospital.
Earlier, Israeli police said an officer shot and wounded a driver in his 30s who was speeding toward a group of officers in al-Issawiya.
Four US-UK air raids target Yemen’s Hodeidah airport: Report
Al Masirah, a Houthi-controlled TV channel, has reported four raids on Hodeidah airport.
It said the facility was targeted in a joint operation hours after four raids on Kamaran Island.
The US and UK militaries have carried out joint attacks against the Houthis since January 12 in response to rebel attacks on vessels in the Red Sea.
The Houthi attacks, launched in response to Israel’s war on Gaza after the Hamas-led October 7 attacks on Israel, have disrupted international trade on the shortest shipping route between Europe and Asia.
‘Dozens’ of targets hit across Gaza over past day: Israeli army
The Israeli military says it struck “dozens of terror targets” across Gaza over the past day.
In an update on Telegram, the military claimed its air force destroyed a site in the Zeitoun neighbourhood of Gaza City that was prepared to launch projectiles towards Israel.
In Khan Younis, soldiers targeted “terror infrastructure sites above and below ground”, holding large amounts of weaponry, the military said.
In Rafah, troops “continued precise, intelligence-based operational activity” and “conducted targeted raids on several military infrastructure sites and eliminated armed terrorist cells”.
Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis receives 14 bodies
Medical sources have told Al Jazeera that 14 bodies have arrived at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis since this morning.
Meanwhile, an Al Jazeera correspondent also reported that Israeli artillery shelling has been targeting the town of Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
Palestinian critically injured by Israeli forces in East Jerusalem
Israeli forces have critically injured a Palestinian man in the al-Issawiya neighbourhood of occupied East Jerusalem, according to the Wafa news agency.
Local sources told Wafa that Israeli soldiers detained the man in his 30s after wounding him while driving his vehicle.
Separately, six people, including a 12-year-old child and a 76-year-old woman, were injured during the night after being targeted by Israeli forces.
In the Shuafat camp in the north of Jerusalem, soldiers stormed the camp and fired rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas canisters. No injuries were reported.
Five bodies recovered after Israeli attack on family home in Bureij
Five bodies have been retrieved from the home of the al-Yemeni family following the Israeli bombing of the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza a day earlier, according to Palestinian media.
