At least 135 Palestinians, including 87 aid seekers, have been killed and 771 injured in Israeli attacks across Gaza in the past 24 hours, according to the enclave’s Health Ministry.

Time is running out for people in Gaza, and a deal has to be reached between Hamas and the Israeli military that will allow for humanitarian aid to be let in to the enclave, Hisham Mhanna, a spokesperson for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), has told Al Jazeera.

“Everyone has suffered enough, we have lost colleagues, we have lost friends, families; everyone in Gaza is impacted,” he said.

“We have 350 plus staff members in Gaza who are struggling on a daily basis to find enough food and clean water, so you cannot possibly imagine how civilians who are most vulnerable, who have been living in displacement for 22 months.

“I see no way that they can continue living like this and I can see no justification for this to continue any longer, not from any legal or moral perspective,” he added. “The agreement should include and guarantee that access is for every person who is in desperate need for food, for medical treatment and for [their] family to know that they are still alive.”Israeli forces target Palestine Red Crescent Society HQ

Netanyahu’s Gaza occupation plan is a political power play: Analysis
Israeli media have reported Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed plans for the complete occupation of the Strip with his security cabinet.

When asked, US President Donald Trump declined to say if he supported or opposed a potential Israeli takeover of Gaza.

He says he’s trying to get more food into the Strip, adding Israel would help with distribution. Alarm was raised at a UN Security Council meeting about the reports of Israel possibly taking control of Gaza.

UN Assistant Secretary-General Miroslav Jenca warned such a move could have catastrophic consequences.

Rob Geist Pinfold, lecturer in international security at King’s College London, has spoken to Al Jazeera about the Israeli plans.

Why won’t the UK evacuate its students from Gaza?
In September 2025, I am supposed to start a new life, not in war-torn Gaza, but in a lecture hall in the United Kingdom.

After nearly a year of endless efforts, applications, exams, and navigating bombings, displacement and blackout zones just to apply, I was accepted. Not once, but five times, by the Universities of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Exeter, and Ulster. I even secured funding.

But instead of boarding a plane, I remain trapped in Gaza, a place where war has flattened homes, stolen futures and caged dreams.

The bombs have not stopped. Neither has our will. Unlike students in other war-torn areas, we, Gaza Palestinian students, are not being offered any path out.

Many countries, such as France, Ireland and Italy, have successfully evacuated their students through government-coordinated efforts and humanitarian corridors, like via the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). These governments made it clear that their students matter.
